Where are you located?

We are located in the basement of Sugar Shack Donuts at 1932 9th St. NW Washington, DC 20001.

How do I get in?
If Sugar Shack is open, let the counter staff know you are looking for Nocturne. They will get you checked in and lead you down to the bar.

If Sugar Shack is closed, text the number on the door and someone will be out to get you.

When are you open?
Seatings for our cocktail tasting menu are available Wednesday & Thursday 5:30 - 10, and Friday & Saturday 5:30 - 12. Reservations are recommended but not required.

Sessions for individual cocktails are open Tuesday 5:30 - closing, Wednesday & Thursday after 10, and Friday & Saturday after 12. No reservations are needed at these times.

How do I make a reservation?
We accept reservations for parties of up to 4 people on our website. Our space is small but we will do our best to accommodate a larger group. To book a party of 5+ or a private event, email us at info@nocturnebar.com.

Please note that Nocturne is unable to accommodate multiple bookings for the same party on a given evening. Multiple reservations attempting to be seated together may not be admitted entry. In order to cancel a reservation you must cancel through Open Table at least 24 hours out. Cancellations carry a fee of $35. 

Do you accept walk-ins?
Walk-in only Sessions run all night Tuesday, on Wednesday & Thursday after 10 and on Friday & Saturday after midnight. We accept walk-ins for our tasting menu, but our space is small and you may have to wait a while. If you want to walk-in for a tasting, Wednesdays and Thursdays are your best best, or try us right at 5:30 when we open. If we do not have space for you right away, you may be asked to join our waiting list and we will text you if something becomes available.

How does the waiting list work?
We ask that you stay close by if you are on the waiting list. If you are not able to join us when seats open up, we will move on to the next party on the list. Please note that Sugar Shack staff does not have access to Nocturne reservations, and cannot check availability or add your name to our waitlist.

What's the deal with the two hour time limit?
In order to ensure that other guests are able to come in and enjoy cocktails at their reserved times, we kindly ask that you limit your stay with us to two hours. The time limit is only enforced if there is a party with a reservation coming in after you. If applicable, your server or bartender will let you know when your party is approaching the two hour limit, and will ask if you would like to order any additional items before passing along your bill. 

Is there a dress code?
No.

What should I do if I would like to change my party size?
You can change your party size in Open Table as long as your reservation is at least 24 hours out. Within 24 hours of your reservation, you can email us at info@nocturnebar.com. Our space is small and last minute increases in party size are difficult to accommodate, but we will always try our best.

Do you serve food?
We offer a selection of chef-driven bar snacks to complement our cocktail menu. 

Can you do anything special for birthdays, anniversaries, etc?
We will do everything we can to make your occasion a memorable one. Just include some notes for us in your reservation and try to be as detailed as possible. Make sure to tell us the guest of honor's name. 

Is it cool if I take pictures while inside?
By all means! As a courtesy to our other guests, we only ask that you refrain from using a flash. Feel free to tag us @NocturnebarDC on Instagram and Twitter, or @Nocturnebar on Facebook.

Can I request a specific seat (bar or counter)?
If you would like to request a specific seat you can do so through Open Table. We will do everything that we can to accommodate your request.

Do you accept credit cards? 
We accept all major credit cards.

Where can I park?
Unless you are the designated driver for the evening, we really don't recommend driving here. If you do end up driving, parking on the street is difficult to find, but it is generally unrestricted in the evenings. There is also garage parking at 1415 9th St NW, about a 10-15 minute walk from Nocturne. We do not offer a valet service. 

Where is the closest metro?
The closest metro station is the U St/Cardozo Metro Station on the Green/Yellow line. The station is located just a few short blocks from us. 

Can you accommodate non-drinkers?
Absolutely. Our bartenders are well versed in the making of all drinks, with or without alcohol.

Do I have to be 21 to enter Nocturne?
Yes. All guests must be 21 years of age and are required to present one form of valid government issued identification upon arrival. 

Can I stage as a bartender at Nocturne?
